When importing a table in excel to an access database is there a trick to keeping hyperlink information?

Question: When importing a table in excel to an access database is there a trick to keeping hyperlink information?

(Posted by: TheRav1n on 2010-05-21 15:24:07)

I have a spreadsheet of documents and files saved in Excel. Each document title is a hyperlink to a scan of that document. When I load the table into an access database the hyperlink is lost. I am hoping to not have to manually re- hyperlink the documents as there are hundreds of them. Is there any way to load the hyperlink info into Access from Excel, or some way to streamline the hyperlinking process at all? Thanks! Immatt you rock! I have to save the table in piececs because "the file length is too long for import " but I cut it into three lists and imported into one table (three separate times) and sure enough it worked like a charm! I figured there would be some nice simple trick :)

Yep, excel is funny in that the hyperlinks are not always preserved. Save the Excel list as a web page (html) and them import from the html. Make sure you reference the data type for the hyperlink column as a hyperlink instead of text (using the wizard). Let me know if you need more specific steps.
