Securing the Microsoft Access database (accdb extension) from editing with viewing possiblility?
I have an database in ACCDB format. I'd like to change it so, that everyone could view it, but nobody would be able to change it's elements.I fell on the idea to manage to open up Hexplorer and edit the file so, that it couldn't be saved or managed with the view possiblility. Is it possible to secure it from editing and view it in the same time?
Microsoft Access database slow across network?
In my office we have four PCs all on a wired network. We run a client database which is built on top of Microsoft Access. The database is one one of the PCs and the others access it across the network.Over the past 3 weeks, two of the PCs have been getting slower in accessing and working with the database, one much more than the other. The strange thing is, one of them doesn't seem to suffer the same problem yet.I've checked the PCs themselves and they seem ok, I've checked network speed and that's fine, but I'm not sure what to do now.Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Microsoft Access Database primary key related entry?
I have made an access database its all fine but the relationship is related to the autonumber primary key which i think is what i have to do right? , but what i want is to be able to do is instead of typing in the related number for the other related tables autonumber, i want to be able to add a new text entry or select from previously used entries in the data.Like if you had ten names, and the autonumber had gone from 1 10 on the names, but if in the related table you wanted to type the text version of their names or type 'greg' and the database would assign it the correlating autonumber. Help would be great thanks.
How do I make a Microsoft Access Database accessible from the web?
I've done a lot of research on this online and seen that the capability exists in Access 2010 with Microsoft Sharepoint. It seems like a lengthy process to convert a database from a conventional database to a web database. I want to preserve all the forms and functionality of access as much as possible. The main goal is to get the database on a web hosting company's server to increase the speed with which users access it. What's the easiest way to do this? I know it's possible with ASP.net but I'm not a programmer. Any ideas? Thanks a lot.

Help with Microsoft Access database, creating a validation rule i think unsure read for situation?
HelloI would like to create a validation which limits the number of records in to a table. The situation is If there are a maximum of 5 seats at a concert then there are only 5 to sell. Yet there are a number of shows throughout the day. so a max of 5 people at each show. each show has its own number in the database yet falls under the field 'Show'Basically i would like to create a validation rule which goes something likeIf " show" show numbers 1 or 2 or 3... 5 then a show a message the seats are fully booked This is so important please hope to hear from you soonthanks for your reply, however i must do this project using Microsoft Access... i hope someone will be able to know THANK YOU LOT SO MUCH FOR THE REPLIES SO FAR URL s293.photobucket.com albums mm58 homer141 ?action view& current Database.jpg IMG i293.photobucket.com albums mm58 homer141 th Database.jpg IMG URL This is a screen shot of the relationships with the fields in the database, it is now to late for me to re arrange the database as the data has been imported and im on a very tight schedule, what is the best way to solve the above problemPlease not the problem above was an example of what I had, as it was an easier way to explain itBasically I do not want double bookings or over bookings occurring at each of the stalls, however the stalls are availble for use for different shows throughout the day so applying a restriction on the number of records would not be a suitable way.s293.photobucket.com albums mm58 homer141 ?action view& current Database.jpg
